The best teacups & saucers in town..
As kids, a visit to my Grandparents house for tea meant teacups & saucers – there were a couple of mugs floating around, but when you went at 4 for tea they weren’t to be seen! It was always a matching set with a milk jug and sugar bowl. At home we always drank from mugs and still do here. But, there is something so delicate and proper about drinking from a teacup & saucer and I keep meaning to start again – and might well do as researching this post has really made me realise what I am missing!
My first choice (above) is this simply gorgeous Lace Tea Set – teacup, saucer and cake plate – from Roost Living. The earthenware is hand rolled using cotton lace doilies, with the result being an original, organic and elegant look, and the pink glaze is so pretty.
Shown below is a super-cool retro version from Illustrated Living by Sagaform and designed by Lotta Odelius:
I love florals as they remind me of my Gran, I think she would have loved this design by Jasper Conran for Wedgwood from John Lewis
But, you can’t beat plain white for pure style – this is the Solstice porcelain teacup & saucer from Cocoboat
We all like to covet something from Liberty’s don’t we? How about this Pretty Ugly Tea Cup then from welovekaoru with a painted 22 carat gold handle?
Now, back to some prettiness from Villeroy & Boch
For a more modern touch how about this Super Shiny pink teacup & saucer from Mooch?
I like this combi of stripes and florals from Maxwell & Williams
Always partial to horse motifs – sorry – am still waiting for my pony..! This sweet version is hand painted from Herend
For sheer gorgeousness how about this Crown cup & saucer from Hunkydory Home?
How about this for a nifty design from Dotcomgiftshop! It’s called the breakfast cup & saucer, but more like elevenses to me!
And finally, this teacup & saucer from This is a Limited Edition is for those of you who find the whole pretty pretty thing too darn much..
